Rise Against Hunger Event
The Rotary Club of Bear Creek-Copperfield will be hosting a food packaging event with Rise Against Hunger May 19, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00pm. The location will be the Cornerstone United Methodist Church Family Living Center at 18081 West Road near Barker Cypress Rd.
A goal of 20,000 meals has been set to be packaged during the event. The intent will be for these meals to be earmarked for Venezuelan refugees who have been forced to flee into Columbia. This contribution hopefully will meet an immediate need for people in very dire circumstances. It will truly be an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in need.
If you and/or your organization would like to participate you are encouraged to call Larry Rumburg, Club President, at 620-353-4300. We are looking for both volunteers to help package meals and financial contributions toward the raw materials for the packages. Each donation of $50 will help provide almost 150 meals. With your help we can make a difference in many lives.
If you would like to know more about Rotary and how to make a difference, please join us. We meet every Thursdays at 12:00 PM Spring Creek BBQ 5935 Highway 6 North Houston, TX 77084. Give us a call if you would like to visit with us.
